“Why am I having a sore breast causing pain in it?”

Sore Breasts:

During puberty, the growth of the breast bud resulting in enlarged breasts can cause pain around the nipples. Also, usually before the menstrual cycles, girls may suffer from heaviness and soreness till the armpit. These are very normal and are caused due to the changes in hormones resulting in menstruation. As one going through the stages of pregnancy and menopause, the pain might subside. Not all the pain in breasts can be considered as breast cancer. Only adult ladies above the age of 40 years are more prone to breast cancer. However, if the pain resides even after the monthly cycles and color of the breast skin changes to pink or dark red, it is better to consult with a doctor.
